The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 mandates that consumers receive financial counseling with an approved agency prior to their bankruptcy petition being filed. Further, the law requires consumers to participate in a financial education course before their debts can be discharged.

 

Transformance™ is a United States Trustee-approved non-profit provider of these services.* Our certified coaches are prepared to help you meet the requirements of the law, and as a convenience to consumers, we offer these services in-person, by phone or online.

Before you begin you must be a resident in Texas or Oklahoma. Our service covers in-person appointments only.

The fee for each counseling and educational course, including materials, is $50. If you are unable to provide the required fee, please contact us at 1-800-249-2227 for potential hardship grant. The required certificates will be issued at the conclusion of each coaching and education session.
